- Make ready 1/2 cup corn flour
- Make ready 1 and 1/2 cup water
- Make ready 1 and 1/4 cup sugar
- Take 1 cup water
- Prepare 4 tbsp Clarified butter
- Get 1/4 tsp Orange food colour
- Take As required Melon seed
- Get As required Sliced Almonds and Pistachios
The recipe for corn flour halwa is pretty simple. It is just about cooking the corn flour in a sugar syrup until it reaches the right halwa consistency. Having said that, the tricky part of this recipe is to get the halwa look glossy. If you miss out on the right texture, the halwa would still taste delicious but it would appear gloppy.
Instructions to make Corn flour halwa:
- Firstly,Put water in flour and mix well.The mixture should be lumps free.
- Now,In a pan put sugar and water.Cook until the sugar gets completely dissolve.
- In sugary syrup,add corn flour mixture and stir continously.Then add clarified butter.One spoon at a time and stir well.
- When the halwa becomes transparent and little bit thick,add orange food colour,melon seeds,sliced almond and pistachios.When the halwa leaves the edges of the pan,it means halwa is ready to go in the mould:)Remove halwa from flame.
- Grease a mould,transfer halwa in a mould and garnish melon seeds,sliced almonds and pistachios on the top.
- Keep the halwa aside for 3 to 4 hours to get completely cool.
- After 4 hours,remove halwa from the mould.Cut it's edges as shown below.Now you can cut halwa into pieces or any shape.
- Serve it and you can also preserve it:)
